Description:
This project is part of the continuous improvement of railway infrastructure, aiming to meet the growing needs of passengers and guarantee quality services. The current context highlights challenges of accessibility, capacity and intermodality at the Mertert railway stop on line 3 Luxembourg - Wasserbillig-Frontière. The existing stop has limitations in terms of platform length, accessibility for people with reduced mobility (PRM) and connections multimodal with other modes of transport. The relocation of the Mertert stop will also contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the new artisanal zone which will be developed by a third party in collaboration with the municipality, thus facilitating travel future workers thanks to better accessibility to rail transport The main objective of this project is to move and rebuild the Mertert railway stop to resolve the identified problems.
