Description:
Recent studies have shown that Morocco has a high potential to exploit offshore wind, particularly along its Atlantic coast where wind speed is high and waters are shallow, making them suitable for fixed-bottom offshore wind. MASEN has committed to pushing forward the development of an offshore wind industry and build upon the competencies gained, industry-wide, in other locations. On this basis, MASEN has planned to develop a first pilot Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) off the coast of Essaouira (the “Project”). The specific objectives of the TA operation is for a Consultant to support MASEN in carrying out various studies aiming at assessing the feasibility of this Project. In order to achieve the objectives of the mission, the following main tasks should be carried out: - Feasibility study; - Complementary studies; and - Environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA)
